About Larry Collins
I moved to Long Island from Whitehouse Station, NJ when I was 16 years old. I lived in the West Hills section of Huntington and went to Half Hollow Hills Hight School. Upon graduating high school, I attended Bryant College (now University) and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a minor in finance. While at Bryant, I helped start a men's Lacrosse Club with a few others that now has matured into a very competitive College Lacrosse program. I currently reside in Kings Park, NY. My personal interest varies but more often than not you will find me outdoors enjoying what mother nature has given us as well as hiking with my golden retriever puppy.
Upon graduating Bryant College and a short spell selling skis in the ski industry, I headed to Wall Steet and landed a job as a financial reporter for a reputable online News Wire Service. I worked there for eight (8) years from 1987-1995, reporting on government and corporate bond daily activity and price action as well as commodities and precious metals. After my tenure as a financial reporter, I made the move to the mortgage industry and worked for a highly successful mortgage broker as a loan officer for ten (10) years from 1995-2005. At that time, I made the decision to go into business for myself, got my NYS Mortgage Broker license and started my own Mortgage Brokerage firm. I ran a successful Mortgage Broker firm for 15-years from 2005-2020 when I decided to close the company and concentrate on originating loans as a loan officer. After weighing various offers, I was hired as a Loan officer in November of 2020 with a highly reputable local Long Island Mortgage Banker and in March of 2022 when the firm closed, I stayed with the same team and joined a great company in Rate.
My reputation in the industry has always been exceptional and my concentration has continually been on integrity and offering the client unparalleled service and advise throughout the whole real estate transaction. My clients and referral partners appreciate my honest approach to the business, my thoroughness in my methods and trust that I will always give them qualified and sound advice. My slogan is "having a qualified and experienced mortgage professional on your team is always valuable but in today's market, it is priceless."
I look forward to working with you and am here to help you with your mortgage financing needs.
The right advice could help you find the right mortgage for you. Let's work together.

This is NOT a mortgage loan approval or commitment to lend.
The actual fees, costs, and monthly payment on your specific loan transaction may
vary, and may include city, county, or other additional fees and costs. Mortgage rates
are offered exclusively through Rate, Inc. and are subject to change without
notice. The payment amount does not include homeowners' insurance, flood insurance
(if applicable), or property taxes that must be paid in addition to your loan payment.
The displayed Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is a measure of the cost to borrow money
expressed as a yearly percentage. For mortgage loans, excluding home equity lines of
credit, it includes the interest rate plus other charges or fees (such as mortgage
insurance, discount points, and origination charges). These mortgage rates are based
upon a variety of assumptions and conditions, which include a consumer credit score
that may be higher or lower than your individual credit score. Your loan's interest
rate will depend upon the specific characteristics of your loan transaction and your
credit history up to the time of closing. Refinancing may cause finance charges to be
higher over the life of the loan. Rate, Inc. has no affiliation
with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the US Department of Veterans
Affairs, the Nevada Department of Veterans Services, the US Department of Agriculture,
or any other government agency.
