Ted Ahern has long played an integral role in the day-to-day financial operations of Rate. Ted’s extensive background in finance, banking, trading, and the capital markets has helped the Company manage strong, safe growth through several business cycles. Ted manages numerous relationships with third-party financial institutions and investors for the Company and he also contributes to several important on-going strategic projects.

The complexities and nuances of Ted’s role necessitate a broad network of dependable contacts and his affability and good nature help him successfully manage this role. “I come from a big Irish family and I am used to, and enjoy, interacting with all sorts of people.” he explains, “In my role at Rate, I deal with a lot of people inside and outside of the Company on a daily basis and find that effectively communicating and working collaboratively with them is very helpful in achieving results.”

Ted’s natural affability and good nature is not what comes to mind when thinking of a financial professional. “This is a unique place to work. “Optimally executing every day on all fronts is the only way you are going to be successful over the long term,” he says. “When working with others towards achieving a business goal, everyone involved, including myself, needs to deliver on their commitments. If someone fails to do what is required, the whole objective can be put at risk. You have to hold yourself and others accountable every day. Our Company and our industry require it.”
